What is Spirulina powder good for?

Spirulina is a potent source of nutrients. It contains a powerful plant-based protein called phycocyanin. Research shows this may have antioxidant, pain-relief, anti-inflammatory, and brain-protective properties. This antioxidant and other nutrients in spirulina are linked with several health benefits. Spirulina also helps with detox by binding with heavy metals in our body and removing them from our system. Being alkaline in nature, Spirulina also helps to balance the pH levels in our body.

Is it safe to take Spirulina every day?
Yes, if taken in the right quantities, it can be safe to consume every day. However, if you suffer from any pre-existing health conditions or have allergies, it is best to consult your physician before taking Spirulina.

Is Spirulina safe for kidneys?

If you are someone who is susceptible to gout or kidney stones, then spirulina may be harmful to you. We advise you to consult your physician before consuming it.

Is Spirulina good for the skin?

Spirulina is one of the world’s most popular and nutrition-dense supplements. It contains anti-inflammatory properties in addition to vitamins. It fights free radicals and, therefore, can prevent skin damage that can lead to wrinkles and signs of ageing.

WHO SHOULDN’T TAKE TOO MUCH SPIRULINA?

    1. People with hyperparathyroidism
    2. People who have serious allergies to seafood or seaweed.
    3.  Patients current experiencing high fever.

WHAT ARE THE SPIRULINA SIDE EFFECTS?

    Spirulina is a totally natural product and will not normally cause any problems to the body. Even if too much is taken, there will be no harm to the body, but doing this is a waste. However some people may experience some of the following symptoms after taking Spirulina;

    1. Slight fever due to the body’s need to burn the extra protein from Spirulina
    2. Slight dizziness. If this occurs, take less of the product. If the symptom does not improve please stop taking Spirulina
    3. Thirst and constipation. After taking a high volume of Spirulina we recommend at least an extra 1/2 litre of water per day to help our body absorb the Spirulina
    4. Stomach ache
    5. Skin itch or slight body rash

WHY ISN’T ORGANICULE SPIRULINA CERTIFIED ORGANIC?

In fact, Organicule Spirulina is organic, but not in the way that most people are familiar with the term. The reason for this is because the classification “organic,” differs between agriculture and aquaculture.

The Differences Between Organic Agriculture and Organic Aquaculture

In order for agricultural crops to be considered “certified organic,” they need to be grown in an eco-system that uses nutrient sources approved as organic, as well as meet other certification body standards regarding pesticide use, product traceability through the supply chain, etc. In essence, the organic compounds used in organic agriculture are produced by living things. Inorganic sources of nitrogen are not allowed in “organic” agriculture.

But, in organic spirulina aquaculture, inorganic nitrogen sources are a natural part of the growth process in blue-green algae, and they have been for millions of years. Spirulina grows naturally in waters that are rich in inorganic mineral salts like phosphorus, nitrogen, and natrium. The inorganic fertilizer found naturally in the Earth’s soil is how spirulina has been nourished for over three billion years. True organic spirulina is not fertilized using fertilizer derived from plant and animal waste; therefore, it does not meet the agricultural definition of “organic.”
